Consultation
Since summer 2010 we have held meetings and arranged visits with over 30 faith and community organisations to ensure that our proposals for the Multifaith Community Centre are as robust and considered as possible. We will continue to work closely with consultees to ensure that the Multifaith Centre is a truely pioneering building of which Lewisham and London can be justifably proud.
Through our consultation work we are looking to identify organisations who might be based in the Centre. If you would like to be part of our consultation and are interested in the concept of the world’s first Multifaith Community Centre please contact Jordana Malik at Renewal on 020 8858 4484 or email below.
Council of Europe
Through our involvement with the Council of Europe’s Intercultural Cities Programme we are seeking to create a new building type which will increase interaction and dialogue between different communities, stimulating creativity and mutual respect which will result in an increased tolerance and understanding between communities.
University of Manchester
We are working with the University of Manchester’s Multi-faith spaces, Symptoms and Agents of Religious and Social change research project to identify and learn best practise for the design and management of the Multifaith Community Centre.
